Indexed empty matrix:
The Individual elements cannot be eliminated from matrices, as matrices always have the similar number of elements in every row.
>> mat = [7 9 8; 4 6 5]
mat =
7 9 8
4 6 5
>> mat(1,2) = [];
??? The Indexed empty matrix assignment is not permitted.
Though, whole rows or columns could be removed from a matrix. For illustration, to remove the second column:
>> mat(:,2) = []
7 8
4 5
Logical Vectors: The relational operators can also be used with the vectors and matrices. For illustration, let's say that there is a vector, and we want to compare each eleme
Polar Form: Any complex number z = a + bi can be thought of as a point (a,b) or vector in the complex plane in which the horizontal axis is the real part of z, and the vertica
Types of User-defined Functions: We know how to write a user-defined function, stored in an M-file, which computes and returns one value. This is merely one type of the functi
The variance is generally defined in terms of the arithmetic mean as: At times, though, the denominator is defined as n instead of n - 1. The default definition used by t
Function xlsread - file function: The function xlsread will read from the spreadsheet file. For illustration, to read from file just generated: >> ssnums = xlsread('ranexc
Illustration of Empty vectors: The Empty vectors can also be used to delete elements from the arrays. For illustration, to remove the third element from array, an empty vector
Strings as matrix: The matrix can be generated, that consists of strings in each row. Therefore, essentially it is created as a column vector of strings, but the final result
Illustration of logical built-in functions: The function find returns the indices of a vector which meet certain criteria. For illustration, to find all the elements in a vect
Functions to create special matrices: The MATLAB also has various functions which create special matrices. For illustration, the zeros function generates a matrix of all zeros
Using Functions with the Vectors and Matrices: As MATLAB is written to work with the vectors and matrices, the whole vector or matrix can be passed as an argument to the funct
