Indexed empty matrix:
The Individual elements cannot be eliminated from matrices, as matrices always have the similar number of elements in every row.
>> mat = [7 9 8; 4 6 5]
mat =
7 9 8
4 6 5
>> mat(1,2) = [];
??? The Indexed empty matrix assignment is not permitted.
Though, whole rows or columns could be removed from a matrix. For illustration, to remove the second column:
>> mat(:,2) = []
7 8
4 5
Applications of Customized Strings: Labels, Prompts, Arguments to Functions: The one of very useful application of this is to involve numbers in strings that are used to plot
Refer the subset of a matrix: It is also possible to refer to the subset of a matrix. For illustration, this refers to the first & second rows, second & third columns: >> m
Writing to Files: There are many lower level functions which can write to files. We will focus on the fprintf function that can be used to write a file and also to append to a
Illustration of Minimum and Maximum Value Both of these functions also return the index of the minimum or maximum value; when there is more than one occurrence, it returns the
Nested IF-ELSE statements: The if-else statement is used to select between the two statements. In order to select from more than two statements, the if-else statements can als
Referring to and Modifying the Matrix Elements: To refer to matrix elements, the row and then the column indices are given in parentheses (always the row index initially and t
Example of Symbolic Expression When there is more than one variable, the MATLAB selects which to solve for. In the illustration below, the equation ax 2 + bx = 0 is solved. Th
Program of built-in factorial function: Calling this function yields similar result as the built-in factorial function: >> fact(5) ans = 120 >> factorial(
Strings as Vectors: The Strings are considered as vectors of characters-or in another words, a vector in which each and every element is a single character-so numerous vector
Functions to create special matrices: The MATLAB also has various functions which create special matrices. For illustration, the zeros function generates a matrix of all zeros
