Incubation period is the time elapsing amongs the receipt of infection and the appearance of the symptoms. The length of the incubation time period depends on the disease, ranging from days in, for instance, malaria, two years in something like AIDS. The estimation of the incubation period is significant in investigations of how a disease might spread and in the projection of the evolution of an epidemic.
