Ans.-Important items to be inspected during level Crossing inspection -

i. Examination of Gate equipment and Gateman in Rules.

ii. Obstruction of view.

iii. Condition of sleepers and fittings, rails and fastenings inspected at least once a year or more frequently.

iv. The painting of gates and discs.

v. Whistle boards and 'STOP' boards provided on the approaches to level crossings.

vi. The Assistant Engineer should inspect the equipment at every manned level crossing on the sub-division every six months, and examine the Gateman in rules during his inspection.

vii. The Assistant Engineer should scrutinise the manuscript register of level crossing maintained by the Permanent Way Inspectors and inspect as many level crossings as possible, when they are completely opened out during the year.

viii. Visibility Requirements for unmanned Level Crossings.

ix. Provision of speed breakers on the approaches of level crossing.

x. Appointment of Gatemen , Rosters and Medical fitness Certificates.-

xi. Gate Lamps and Blinders.
