Q. Illustrate Median with example?
Ans.
The median of a data set is the middle value (or the average of the two middle terms if there are an even number of data values) when the data values are written out in increasing order. For example, the median of both data sets {2,5,8} and {1,4,6,9} is 5.
Example: Pradeep and four of his friends decide to find the median of the hours they watched TV last night. They list the number of hours they each watched: {1,2,4,5}
Since there are four data values: 1, 2, 4 and 5, the median is the average of the middle two numbers: 2 and 4. The median is 3 hours of television.
