The following progeny genotypes were observed: 73 AaBb, 64 aabb, 279 Aabb, 303 aaBb.

Using a chi-square test, test whether these two loci show independent assortment? How would you explain the frequency of the progeny genotypes? If there is evidence for recombination, what is the arrangement of the alleles for these two loci on each of the chromosomes? Do you think these genes are tightly linked?
