How is polymer fibers terminated?

PMMA fiber single ends can be of some types always depending upon the nature of the conductor and the last application. A Simply cut fiber with snips or cutters is a standard for display, sign and decorative uses. Similar type of encapsulation as for glass fibers can be used along with multiple single conductors and for similar applications with the exception of high temperature work. For mainly decorative and lighting uses PMMA fibers are considerably extra user friendly than glass fibers. Extremely simple tools and small skill are, in most cases, sufficient to generate stunning results on site, without containing to result to factory custom made and cut components that results in dramatic cost reductions. PMMA fibers can also be polished to a mirror finish along with buffing compounds and machines without encapsulation for single fibers. Common ends should always be fused together, without by means of adhesives. Some fiber manufacturers specially render their guarantee void when adhesives of any kind are used at the common end. Fusion creates a solid block, which can then be polished to a very high optical finish.
