How can we transfer data among CAD system
The three main reasons for transferring data among CAD systems (or CAE systems or agents etc.) are :
(i) To communicate with remote computers and design workstations. Practical limitations, such as shortage of workstations, can already lead to storage/retrieval and interchange of CAD models.
(ii) Long-duration storage and retrieval, and archival purposes.
(iii) During the design process, a CAD system may turn out to be incapable of performing the required modeling operations. Then it can be decided to send the CAD model to a different CAD system which does have the required functionality.
