Homogeneous and isotropic material:

A homogeneous material implies that elastic properties like modulus of elasticity and Poisson's ratio of material are same everywhere in material system. Isotropic means that the properties are not directional characteristics, that is, an isotropic material has same elastic properties in all the directions at any one point of body:
