Hearts and minds of colonial americans, History

Assignment Help:

John Adams once wrote that the American Revolution, to one degree or another, had been in the hearts and minds of colonial Americans all along. Do you think he was right about this? Why or why not? In the course of your essay, examine the sweep of colonial history from the early settlements to the revolution itself. Along the way, refer directly to by quoting directly from at least two separate essays in Hollitz, as well as quote from at least a grand total of four document/sources from your Hollitz book.

The source we are required to use is called Contending Voices by John Hollitz. The question is not especially difficult, I'm just having a hard time figuring out where to start.
