Give brief description about arithmetic processing unit

To execute the arithmetic operations there is a separate section known as arithmetic processing unit in CPU. The arithmetic instructions are performed usually on binary or decimal data. Fixed-point numbers are used to represent the integers or fractions. We can either have signed or unsigned negative numbers. Fixed-point addition is the simplest addition in arithmetic operation.
