Gantt Load Chart

The Gantt charts were developed by Henry L. Gantt about a century ago. Their purpose is to provided an immediate comparison between schedule an reality ( i, e, between planned work and actual progress of the work) this is achieved simply by marking on the chart the planned work and the actual progress of the work.

The Gantt chart is actually a modified bar chart in which horizontal bars are drawn for each activity in proportion to the time required for completing it. A cursor attached to the Gantt chart can be moved across the chart to compare between the actual progress and planned work till any particular date.
