Functional Organisation:

The library is expected to take care of selection, acquisition and storage of documents. The documentation/information centre, in collaboration with the library, would then have the responsibility of processing and disseminating information. For this, it may be organised on a functional basis into sections and sub-sections such as (a) information processing, database creation and maintenance, (b) information services, (c) translation services, (d) reprography services, and (e) user education, use promotion and liaison.
