Feline calcivirus infection

This disease is caused by a virus under the family Caliciviridae. Its symptoms  include rhinitis, tracheitis and pneumonia. The animals are lethargic, anorexic and exhibit stiff gait. Direct electron microscopy is a convenient method for disease detection. Attenuated and inactivated vaccines are widely used for controlling the disease.
