Explain the working of Transceivers

Transceivers are used to connect nodes to the several Ethernet media. Most computers and network interface cards having a built-in 10BaseT or 10Base2 transceiver, permitting them to be connected directly to Ethernet without needs an external transceiver. Many Ethernet devices give an AUI connector to permit the user to connect to any media type through an external transceiver.
