In order to keep pace with competitors, Space Ltd has decided to implement an ERP system in order to replace its old legacy and manual systems. Management does not have much knowledge about the implementation of ERP systems and you have been appointed as a consultant to advise on the matter.

(a) Illustrate the similarities and differences between the steps involved in the implementation of ERP systems compared to traditional software development lifecycle.

(b) Explain the different strategies to ERP implementation, and give examples to what types of environment they suit by justifying your answer.

(c) Explain the reason for keeping legacy system while undertaking an ERP implementation and illustrate the implication.

(d) Management has a question: "Should we go ahead with the best of breed approach for the ERP implementation?" Give your views.
