Explain the Primary Treatment for Wastewater

Primary Treatment: to remove the pollutants that floats or settles. Typically 60% of suspended solids and 35% of BOD5 are removed. At one time this was the only treatment used by many cities.  Now federal law requires the municipalities to provide secondary treatment.
