Preliminary treatment of implant therapy

It is important to ensure a healthy oral environment before going ahead with implant procedure. The treatment needs to be initiated in a proper sequence:

 Any emergency treatment to provide relief of pain must be done first if required

 A thorough clinical investigation should be done to identify all the potential problems

 Endodontic and Periodontic therapy initiated

 All restorative treatment should be completed

 All teeth with hopeless prognosis should be extracted

 Occlusal  correction and orthodontic therapy initiated where ever required

 Home oral hygiene maintenance   instructions given

 Periodic recall and check up done to evaluate the patient's condition and oral

hygiene maintenance
