Influence line-moment

1.  Replace the point of interest with an imaginary hinge.

2.  Rotate the beam one unit rotation by apply equal but opposite moments to each of the two beam sections.

 Note: when a point of interest is a support, this unit rotation can be achieved by simply lifting the point at the hinge location.
