Explain the Functional Mode with help of an example.
Functional Model
The functional model shows a computation and functional derivation of data values in it without indicating how, why or when values are compounded. For illustration a spreadsheet is type of functional model. The values in a spreadsheet could be calculated by using some formula, but it cannot be structured further.
PART MARKING: For this section, we will use part marking. This means we will supply model answers to all questions but we will only mark six questions. We will choose these randoml
Complete replication: It implies maintaining of a whole copy of the database at every site. Thus, the reliability & availability and performance for query response are maximized.
Consider the table student and list names of students in the departments other than maths and computer. SELECT std_name FRM student WHERE dept_name NOT IN (‘Maths','Computer);
The entity type STUDENT has the following attributes: Student Name, Address, Phone, Age, Activity, and No of Years. Activity represents some campus-based student activity, and No o

What is an ER diagram? Why is it used in Database management system (DBMS)?
What is assertion? Mention the forms available. An assertion is a predicate expressing a condition that we wish the database always to satisfy. Domain integrity constraints.
Express the ways provided by MySQL for Pattern Matching? MySQL provides two kinds of pattern matching. 1) One is based on SQL patterns 2) Regular expressions.
Replication : It is definite as a copy of a relation. Every replica is stored at a dissimilar site. The alternative to replication is to store only single copy of a relation which
Define Assertions in SQL a. An assertion is a predicate that is expressing a condition we wish the database to always satisfy. b. Domain constraints, functional dependency
