Right-handed adult patient X with a complete transection of the corpus callosum is presented with a simple written question in X's right visual field. A barrier is positioned so that patient X can see his right hand only in his right visual field and his left hand only in his left visual field.  Patient X will be

  A. able to use his left hand to move scrabble tiles (pieces of wood with letters on them) so that he spells out the correct answer with his left hand.

  B. able to respond correctly to the sentence with a verbal reply.

  C. able to use a pencil in his right hand to spell out the correct answer on a piece of paper.
