Explain Session Layer of OSI Model.

The session layer manages, establishes and terminates communication sessions.

Communication sessions contain service of requests and service responses which occur between applications located into various network devices. These requests and responses are coordinated through protocols implemented on the session layer. The session layer manages, firstly establishes and terminates sessions in between applications

  • Functions of the session layer and the various processes which occur as data packets travel by this layer. More purposely, you learned that
  • Communication sessions contain mini-conversations which occur in between applications located in various network devices
  • Requests and responses are coordinated through protocols implemented at the session layer
  • The session layer decides whether to utilize two-way simultaneous communication or two-way vary communication through using dialogue control
  • The session layer utilizes dialogue separation to initiate, terminate and manage communication into an orderly fashion.
