Assignment Help:

Explain Lopinavir/ritonavir

Lopinavir is available in the US only in a fixed-dose combination with ritonavir . In treatment-naïve patients a regimen with lopinavir/ritonavir was more efficient than a nelfinavir-containing regimen. A regimen having lopinavir/ritonavir is a first choice in patients with previous HIV treatment and moderate or no protease inhibitor resistance (<5 resistance mutations).

Adverse Effects - Lopinavir/ritonavir is usually well tolerated. Mild diarrhea, nausea, headaches and asthenia have occurred.
