New Employee Issue You have a new employee who is in his/her probationary period, the first 90 days of employment. The employee has missed several days of work and has been late at least two days this week. You observe her unsteady gait and her difficulty concentrating this morning. Another employee comes to you and says they think she/he smells of alcohol. How would you handle this situation?
