Hepatitis A vaccine (Havrix - GlaxoSmithKline; Vaqta Merck) is recommended for all susceptible travelers going anywhere other than Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or developed countries in Europe. Pre- vaccination serologic testing is not recommended, except in select circumstances such as travelers who originally emigrated from high-risk areas or are members of high-risk populations such as men who have sex with men.
