Explain Fundamentals of Load Flow Analysis

The calculation of electrical power system load flow or current flow is a problem which has no direct solution. It is not that a solution does not exist but that it cannot be found directly. Hence, iterative numerical methods are used which give series of solutions each closer to the correct answer, if the answer is convergent. Usually there is two possible mathematical solutions but only one is acceptable. The other satisfies the data submitted but at an unacceptably low voltage.
