Explain causes of labour turnover.

Causes of Labour Turnove:

(a) Voluntary withdrawals (through the worker) because of:

- Not like for the present job;

- Best job available elsewhere;

- Conditions at home;

- Ill-health;

- Poor working situations;

- Bad treatment by the boss;

- Lower wages and excessive hours of work;

- Job being hazardous and hard;

- Poor induction and training;

- Dirty politics prevalent within the industry;

- Partially in making promotions and transfers and because of,

- Inefficient and ineffective management.

(b) Lay-offs because of seasonal nature of industry, fuel, raw material and shortage of power,.

(c) Discharges because of insubordination, undesirable activities of the employees, they being found inappropriate for the job.

(d) Retirement.

(e) Death.
