Explain Bulking of sand

The presence of moisture content to particular extent in sand increases the volume of sand. This is due to the fact that the moisture causes ?lm of water around sand particles which results in the increase in volume of sand. This phenomenon of enhances in volume of sand is known as the bulking of sand.
