Explain about vessel design loads, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

Q. Explain about Vessel Design Loads?

Vessels and their supports shall be designed for all of the following conditions:

• Erection: dead weight of fully dressed, empty vessel combined with wind and earthquake loads

• Transportation: all anticipated loads, including dead weight combined with bracing and supports for shipment

• Operation: design pressure and/or full vacuum load, total operating weight including maximum weight of all components, including internals and piping loads, with consideration of temperature gradients

• Testing: test pressure combined with weight of contents during hydrotesting in the horizontal position.

For vertical vessels, design for future hydrotesting in the vertical position shall be required when specified on the Data Sheet or in the Purchase Order.
