Explain about the term electron microscope.

Electron microscope:

An electron microscope is a form of microscope which uses electrons to illuminate a specimen and make an enlarged figure. Electron microscopes have much superior resolving power than light microscopes and can acquire much higher magnifications. Several electron microscopes can magnify specimens up to two million times, whereas the best light microscopes are restricted to magnifications of two thousand times. Both electron and light microscopes have resolution restrictions, imposed through their wavelength. The greater magnification and resolution of the electron microscope is because of the wavelength of an electron, its de Broglie wavelength, being very smaller than which of a light photon, electromagnetic radiation.

Electron microscope

The electron microscope utilises electrostatic and electromagnetic lenses into forming the image through controlling the electron beam to focus this at a exact plane relative to the specimen in a way similar to how a light microscope uses glass lenses to focus light onto or by a specimen to form an image.
