Pre-tensioning systems

In the previous unit we have seen different steps in a pretensioning operation. Tendon wires or strands (formed as a rope type arrangement made of  several tendon wires) are stretched and concrete is cast in the moulds, as shown in Figure. When sufficient strength is gained by concrete due to hardening, tendon wires may be cut from outside and jacks may be removed.
