Explain about the laser cutting and welding.

Laser cutting and Welding:

Laser cutting is a technology which uses a laser to cut materials, and is generally used for industrial manufacturing applications. This laser cutting works with directing the output of a high power laser, through computer, at the material to be cut. After that the material melts, burns, vaporizes away, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge along with a high quality surface end. Industrial laser cutters are utilized to cut flat-sheet material and also structural and piping materials.

Both gaseous CO2 and solid-state Nd:YAG lasers are utilized for cutting, into addition to drilling, welding, marking and surface treatment applications.

Laser cutting and Welding

Laser cutters generally work much like a milling machine would for working a sheet in which the laser (equivalent to the mill) enters by the side of the sheet and cuts this through the axis of the beam. So as to be capable to start cutting from somewhere else than the edge, a pierce is completed before every cut. Piercing generally involves a high power pulsed laser beam that slowly (taking around 5 to 15 seconds for half-inch thick stainless steel, for instance) makes a hole into the material.
