I/O System Management

The module which keeps track of the status of devices is known as I/O traffic controller. Every I/O device has a device handler which resides in a separate process associated with that device.

I/O subsystem comprises

1. A memory management component which involves caching, buffering and spooling.

2. A general device driver interface.
