Evaluate the volumetric efficiency of the engine, Mechanical Engineering

Assignment Help:

(a) Describe the volumetric efficiency for an I. C. Engine. What is the basic effect of volumetric efficiency on:

(i) Specific fuel consumption,

(ii) engine power.

(b) A petrol engine has a cylinder diameter of 60mm and stroke 100 mm. If the mass of the charge is completed per cycle is 0.0002 Kg., evaluate the volumetric efficiency of the engine Assume R= .287 KJ/Kg0K.
