These are foods which do not raise the blood sugar level and can be eaten as often as a patient wants. They contain less than 5 grams of carbohydrates and less than 20 calories per serving. Even if the free foods are taken between meals, the blood sugar level is not affected. Of course, not more than 2-3 times, these food items should be eaten in a day otherwise, the carbohydrates and calories in these food items need to be considered as a part of the diet plan.
