Draw and explain the block diagram of DMA controller.

The fundamental idea of DMA is to transfer blocks of data directly between peripherals and memory. The data don't suffer the microprocessor but the data bus is involved. "Normal" transfer of one data byte consumes to 29 clock cycles. The DMA transfer needs only 5 clock cycles.
