Device drivers are special programs installed by config.sys file to control installable devices. So personal computers can be expanded at some future time by installation of new devices.

Device driver is .com file organized in 3 parts.

1) The leader

2) The strategy procedure

3) The interrupt procedure

The driver has either .sys or .exe extension and is originated at offset address 0000h.
