Determine the uses of Screw connectors

Screw connectors are normally used  to splice large-diameter high-tensile strength bars. The bars are threaded at the ends and a sheet-metal sheath is employed to connect both the threaded ends, as shown in Figure. It is recommended not to use them for splicing heat-treated prestressing steels, which are susceptible to stress corrosion.
