Determine the purposes of vital signs
The vital signs reflect the functioning of vital organs of the body i.e. heart, brain and lungs. They indicate the basic functions of body. These functions are regulation of body temperature, breathing and heart beat. The vital signs are checked to know and monitor the health condition of a person or a patient.
The purposes of vital signs are to:
- monitor normal function of the vital organs of the body.
- monitor the health conditions.
- identify any change in normal functioning of vital organs.
- assess the condition of the patient before and after treatment.
