Determine the max theoretical information rate, Mathematics

Assignment Help:

1 Data is to be transmitted over Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) using 8 levels per signaling elements. If the bandwidth is 3000 Hz, deduce the theoretical maximum transfer rate.

2 Assuming that a communication line has a bandwidth of 3000 Hz and a typical signal to noise ratio of 20dB, determine the max theoretical information rate.
