Solution:  The elevation of point P can be found from:

ElevP = elevT + HI - (Horizontal Distance) tan α + Rod Reading

ElevT = elevP - HI + HD tan α + RR

           = 1703.99-ft - 5.02-ft + (220.85) tan 7°10'10" + 4.22-ft

           = 1730.97-ft (answer)
