a) On the flowchart, assign variables for the unknown flow rates and compositions.

b) Write and solve material balances to determine the flow rate and composition of each stream.

c) What percentage of component B in the feed stream leaves from the bottom of UNIT 2?

d)  If UNIT 1 malfunctions and it cannot remove any of component A, where would you expect most of this component to exit the system?  Why?
