Determine the domain of each of the following functions.
f( x ) = x - 4 / x2 - 2 x -15
Solution
With this problem we have to avoid division by zero and thus we have to determine where the denominator is zero that means solving,
x2 - 2 x -15 = ( x - 5) ( x + 3) =0
⇒ x = -3, x = 5
Thus, these are the only values of x that we have to avoid and therefore the domain is,
Domain: All real numbers except x = -3 & x = 5
Reason for why limits not existing : In the previous section we saw two limits that did not. We saw that did not exist since the function did not settle down to a sing

If OA = OB = 14cm, ∠AOB=90 o , find the area of shaded region. (Ans:21cm 2 ) Ans: Area of the shaded region = Area of ? AOB - Area of Semi Circle = 1/2 x 14 x
Divergence Test Once again, do NOT misuse this test. This test only says that a series is definite to diverge if the series terms do not go to zero in the limit. If the
