Q. Design the drainage area?

Areas beneath equipment or vessels subject to spills or leaks shall have slope drainage area. Every skid shall be provided with floor drains.

Skids supporting equipment with no building envelope shall have drainage area constructed with minimum 6 mm plate for maximum unsupported spans of 1050 mm. A 100 mm high curb plate shall be provided all around the skid. Continuous sealed weld shall be used to weld curb plate to floor.

Installation of curb plate for drainage area applies only to skids with possible spills or leakage from piping or equipment.
