Describe the charles law, Chemistry

Assignment Help:

Q. Describe the Charles Law and show graph between temperature and volume?

Ans.

Charles' law describes the relationship between the temperature and the volume of a gas. Charles' law states that at constant pressure, the volume of any gas is directly proportional to the absolute temperature. Absolute temperature is measured in Kelvins. The temperature of absolute zero is 0 K.

Mathematically, Charles' Law can be expressed as:

  • V / T = k (k is a constant) or
  • V1/T1 = V2/T2 (the 1 and 2 subscripts refer to initial and final conditions, respectively).
