Q. Describe the basic aspects of ENIAC?

The main aspects of ENIAC can be summarized as:

  • ENIAC was a general purpose-computing machine in that vacuum tube technology was used.
  • ENIAC was based on decimal arithmetic instead of binary arithmetic.
  • ENIAC required being programmed manually by plugging, unplugging and setting switches. So to pass a set of instructions to computer was hard and time-consuming. This was determined to be major deficiency of ENIAC.
