Q. Describe Sensory Receptors?
Receptor organs can detect external or internal stimuli. They can be classified according to the stimulus to which they respond:
• Photoreceptors (on retina)
• Chemoreceptors (smell, taste, blood solutes, osmolarity...)
• Mechanoreceptors (pressure, stretch, movement, vibration, pain -> Nocireceptors, ...)
• Thermoreceptors (temperature: Ruffini's corpuscule -heat- , Krause's bulb -cold-)
