In this section we propose to outline the principles of a diagnostic approach that is applicable to newborns, infants and children with suspected CHD. We will address the following questions:1) How does one recognise that a newborn, an infant or a child has congenital heart disease (CHD)?2) What constitutes a complete diagnosis for a patient who has CHD?
