Define the factors of prime concern for system modeling

Following four factors are of prime concern for system modeling:

1. System modeling is undertaken with some simplifying assumptions about system.  However these assumptions limit the quality of system model, it reduces system complexity and makes understanding easier. Yet model considers all important, critical and material factors.  These assumptions are made regarding all aspects such as processes, values of inputs, behaviours etc.

2.  Minute details of various components are ignored and a simplified model is developed.  For instance, there may be different types of data present in the system. Type of data having minute differences are clubbed into single category so reducing overall number of data types.

3. Constraints of the system are identified. A number of them may be critical. They are considered in modeling while others may be ignored.  Constraints may be due to external factors, such asstorage capacity, processing speed, operating system or network features used.

4. Customers mentioned preferences about tools, technology, design, interfaces, architecture etc. are taken care of.
