Define the Combustion of Solid Waste?

A chemical reaction in which the elements in fuel oxidize in presence of excess oxygen

C → CO₂, H → H₂O, S → SO_x, N → NO_x

Reactions are a function of Oxygen, Time, Temperature, and Turbulence
Higher Temps means Higher NOx Emissions
As temp increases, volatile materials burn off into gas, then organic components "crack" and form gas, fixed carbon remains
