Define Root-End Resection Apicoectomy

a. Examine the root surface before cutting for: cracks, anatomical variations, and quality of orthograde obturation.

b. Cut the root end (3 mm: for removal of ramification ad lateral canals),  in a perpendicular direction on root axis

c. With microsurgery, you don't need a boney bevel for visibility. It may cause reinfection by exposing more dentinal tubules.
